Dennis Warner in Concert

A blend of serious, thought provoking songs with lighter, up-tempo material

Evansville Arts Coalition is pleased to present Dennis Warner in concert at Evansville Art Center on Saturday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m.

He’s traveled and performed a lot

Dennis Warner's musical career has brought him to all 50 states and beyond. Along the journey, he's released 11 CD’s, authored Beads on One String and performed in concert at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

In 2020, Dennis released his 11th album, Pilot Me, which debuted on the FOLK DJ radio charts at #8 in August. Dennis was also named among the top 10 for “Artist of the Month” in all of folk music.

His breakthrough album Seeds was named one of the best of 2012 in folk music, based on radio play around the world. FOLK DJ also named him one of the top artists in folk music that year. Midnight Special host Rich Warren designated Seeds as his “CD Pick of the Week” on his nationally syndicated show.

Early in 2018, Dennis was invited to the RoundGlass Music Awards in New York City celebrating “Enlightened musicians from around the globe who create music to make the world a better place.” A few months later, Warner was honored to perform for the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto, where 7,500 attendees representing 230 different faiths from around the planet gathered finding ways to coexist in our diverse world.

In January of 2019, Dennis was featured on the popular PBS TV show Backroads. Produced by Lakeland Public Broadcasting, the sold out concert celebrated his original music and was syndicated throughout the PBS network.

Beads on One String

His Beads on One String book, now in its Ninth Printing, celebrates our connectedness with each other and features a bully prevention curriculum for elementary schools. Beads on One String is currently being used in schools throughout the U.S. and other countries as well. In 2021, Warner signed an agreement with the STEPi/Utopia Foundation to distribute 20,000 books throughout the African countries of Uganda, Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa and Tanzania. Accepting STEPi’s invitation to perform, Dennis performed a successful three week concert tour throughout South Africa earlier this year.

Warner is a three-time McKnight Foundation Artist Award winner and three-time finalist for the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriting awards, co-founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary.

His concerts blend serious, thought provoking songs with lighter, up-tempo material. Warner is noted for being an entertainer, bringing the audience into the performance with laughter and even a couple of sing-alongs

Evansville Art Center is located at 111 Main Street in Evansville and is handicapped accessible. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
You may bring a treat to share at intermission if you wish. Beverages will be provided. There is no charge for this concert; donations are gratefully accepted.

Dennis Warner is a fiscal year 2023 recipient of the Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund."
