Tell me a story, sing me a song

He’s a storyteller! He’s a singer-songwriter! He’s a pastor and he’s a conference speaker! He’s a Nashville recording artist! Please join us at Railroad & 2nd Event Center on Saturday, April 13th to hear and see Layton Howerton for yourself!

Howerton lives in Red Lodge, Montana now and has spent over forty-five years crisscrossing the country in his career.

You may have heard his “Highlights” radio features, that bring fresh perspective for life in an everyday, positive and simple way. They can be heard weekly from coast to coast on the Family Radio Network. His work has been critically acclaimed and featured in multiple forms of media and can be enjoyed on any music streaming service, including his latest release, “A Mystery”.

Layton Howerton’s career in the entertainment industry and ministry has taken him all over the country with professional affiliations that include BMI, BMG, UNIVERSAL, EMI/SPARROW RECORS, OWM/19, WMBC AND TIN CUUP MINISTRIES.

Evansville Arts Coalition, in conjunction with Railroad and 2nd Event Center, is so pleased to introduce Layton Howerton to this area. You may have recently heard him on KXRA Radio’s Open Line program talking about his life and career and eagerness to perform in West Central Minnesota. Brandon-Evansville’s own Jeff Anderson has this to say about Layton, “one of my favorite musicians and my Montana friend, Layton Howerton, released his full length album, “A Mystery”. Just a wonderful collection of songs that are a gift to listen to... timeless Americana music about faith and life-it doesn't get much better than that... find it wherever you buy or stream your music!!”

Maya will open the show

Guitarist and singer Maya Holmgren from the Twin Cities will open the show

Maya Holmgren wears a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and is sitting on an old wooden wagon seat

She has been playing guitar for 2 years and has recently begun performing publicly. She plays the songs that she loves and a few that everyone likes to sing along to as well! She is a country music fan but has recently started branching out to other genres including artists like Billy Joel, Elvis, and The Beatles. Her song set includes songs by The Chicks, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney, Miranda Lambert and more.

Her goal is to someday write her own songs, but for now she is happy to play covers and master her craft while sharing her music by playing for others.

She has local ties

Maya is the daughter of former Evansville graduates Molly (Week) and Kyle Holmgren. She is the granddaughter of Carol Week, Donny Week and Becky Gilbert, all with ties to Evansville. Maya is currently a freshman at the Maranatha Christian Academy in Brooklyn Park
