Two Artists - One Very Interesting Exhibit

Matt Bakke stands by a display of his wood turning

During the month of October, Evansville Art Center’s Gallery space is shared by two very gifted artists who work in very different mediums.

Matt Bakke

Matt Bakke works in wood. His turned wood creations are sure to capture your imagination.  His designs reflect the natural beauty of the wood he uses; each piece holding a personality of its own. His stunning works of art including bowls, vases, and figurines showcase the unique grain of the wood it was turned from.

TJ Pendergast

TJ Pendergast is a visual artist and jewelry maker. She started painting with watercolors in 2022 after losing partial vision in one eye. She says sitting in front of an easel in her home was therapeutic. TJ wants to show her impression of the missing piece in an unexpected way through watercolor.

Visually Diverse

By bringing these two artists’ amazing work together in one exhibit space, it creates a veritable feast for the eyes with all of the shapes, colors, and textures represented in wood, watercolor and jewelry!

This exhibit runs from October 3 -31 and may be seen during regular Gallery hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
