Third Thursday Open Mic Night

Evansville Arts Coalition is pleased to welcome Patty Kakac as the new leader of Open Mic beginning this month, and wishes to thank Mark Wiese for his many seasons of  leadership and dedication to this monthly event.

Patty is bringing fresh energy and new ideas with her!  Open Mic will now expand to include spoken word and poetry, creating space for even more voices, stories, musicians, writers, and performers. Those who just want to come listen are always welcome too!

You don't have to be polished. You don't have to be a professional. You just need something to say, sing, play, write... or maybe the courage to try.

This is a free event; donations are gratefully accepted. You may bring a treat to share at intermission, if you wish. Beverages will be provided. The EAC offers an excellent sound system and a full Yamaha keyboard. Open Mic will continue to be held the third Thursday of each month from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Patty will also be offering songwriting workshops designed to encourage musicians at every level to explore their own words, develop their ideas, and build the confidence to share what they create.  Watch for those workshops coming up in the near future!
