Women of Hope Leadership Workshop

Evansville Arts Coalition is pleased to host national speaker and author, L. C. Young, who will present Women of Hope Leadership on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Evansville Art Center.

Join us for an empowering experience designed for girls and women from 6th grade through adulthood.  Together, we’ll explore confidence, communication, personal strengths, goal setting, and what it means to become a leader in your own life.

Women of Hope Leadership is more than a workshop.  It is an opportunity, through meaningful conversation, reflection, and engaging literacy-based activities, to recognize the strength, voice, and potential already within you.

Lyssa Lovejoy, EAC President has intentionally invited L. C. Young, founder of IAMGEHO, an organization working with literacy and disparity, to bring an experienced and credible voice to the conversation about how literacy, communication, confidence, and leadership can create opportunity and strengthen our communities.

This workshop is also about rediscovering the incredible resource we have in our libraries.  Literacy is a gift. It gives us the ability to learn, communicate, tell our stories, advocate for ourselves and others and imagine possibilities beyond what we may see today.  We want to use that gift to uplift women and girls while bringing people together in a space built for learning and connection.

Whether you are a student, mother, mentor, educator, or community member, the goal is for you to leave encouraged to use your voice with purpose, recognize what you bring to the table, and understand that leadership doesn’t begin with a title.  It begins with believing you have something worth contributing.
