Fall is arriving, and with it comes a new season at the Evansville Art Center.
We have new hours, some exciting changes, three special events, and plenty of reasons to keep coming through our doors!
Thank you to our members, patrons, volunteers, artists, and friends who continue to support the EAC and help us create a place where art, music, learning, and community come together.
NEW FALL HOURS
Beginning in September, the Evansville Art Center will be open:
Fridays & Saturdays | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
(Or by special appointment)
Our regular gallery hours may be changing, but our calendar is not slowing down! We will continue to offer scheduled events, workshops, performances, and special programs throughout the fall.

SPECIAL EVENTS THIS SEPTEMBER!
In addition to a new exhibition in the Gallery, we have three very different experiences coming to EAC this month, from an inspiring day of conversation and growth, to music from around the world, to creating your very own barn quilt.
Evansville Arts Coalition is pleased to introduce work by Jim Burger and Alayna Eldred in the Gallery in September.
One works with wood and metal, the other works with the lens of a camera. Together, their works makes for a stimulating and refreshing view of the world all around us.
RESCHEDULED to APRIL 10th, 2027 WOMEN OF HOPE
Featuring National Speaker & Author LC Young
We are honored to welcome LC Young to Evansville for Women of Hope, a special day focused on encouraging women and young women to recognize their potential, strengthen their voices, and understand the power of positive, intentional communication.
This event is designed for women and girls 6th grade and older and will bring generations together for a day of learning, encouragement, and connection.
Proceeds from this event support both the Evansville Arts Coalition and GEHO Foundation.

SEPTEMBER 18 | MICHAEL WARD-BERGEMAN
A Musical Experience from Around the World
We are pleased to welcome world-touring artist Michael Ward-Bergeman for a truly unique and immersive evening at the Evansville Art Center.
Michael will bring a collection of instruments gathered from cultures around the globe, giving our audience an opportunity to experience music in a completely different way.
During the first half of the evening, you'll have an opportunity to see the collection up close and even play alongside the artist. After intermission, settle in and enjoy a full concert performance.
Friday, September 18: Doors open 6:30, Concert 7p.m.
Tickets: $28

This is more than a concert. It's an opportunity to experience instruments, sounds, and cultures from around the world right here in Evansville.

SEPTEMBER 30 | ADVENTURES IN BARN QUILTS
With Carol Johnson
You've seen Carol's beautiful work around our community. Now it's your turn!
Join Carol Johnson for Adventures in Barn Quilts, a complete start-to-finish workshop where you'll create your own barn quilt.
Carol will guide participants through the process from beginning to end, giving you the opportunity to leave with a completed piece of your own.
Wednesday, September 30th: 9:30 a.m. – 4p.m.
Cost: $100 Pre-registration is required.

OPEN MIC: A THANK YOU & A NEW CHAPTER
The Evansville Art Coalition would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mark Wiese for his many years of support and dedication leading Open Mic at the Evansville Art Center.
Mark has given his time and energy to creating a place where musicians could gather, perform, and share their talents. We are grateful for his years of service and wish him all the best as he steps down from leading the program.
We are excited to welcome Patty Kakac as the new leader of Open Mic, and she's bringing fresh energy and new ideas with her!
Open Mic will now expand to include spoken word and poetry, creating space for even more voices, stories, musicians, writers, and performers. Patty will also be offering songwriting workshops designed to encourage musicians at every level to explore their own words, develop their ideas, and build the confidence to share what they create.
You don't have to be polished. You don't have to be a professional. You just need something to say, sing, play, write... or maybe the courage to try. Open Mic is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. It’s September 17th this month. Doors open at 6:30 and the mic is ready at 7:00 p.m.
